About Us

We are a single, private family fund which serves our personal interests.

For more than a decade, the Saba Family Foundations have been dedicated to a single mission: promoting the well-being of humanity throughout the world. Today, we still pursue that mission with its goals of building greater resilience and advancing educationhealth-care and .

Through our portfolio of initiatives, Saba Family Foundations strive to:

Mr. Saba

A Jaffna Tamil, Saba left Sri Lanka in the 1950’s due to the treatments of Tamils. He settled as an immigrant in Malaysia where he built himself from nothing to a successful engineer.

His values and beliefs were to always make sure there was justice and peace in the world. He tried to build a solid foundation for his family by moving them to Australia where he wanted a better life for his children. He lived an immigrants dream. He always advised his daughter that giving back and helping those in need was the key for the advancement of all in the world. Saba was a true entrepreneur. He started a business in real estate called Saba Gardens.

He always wanted to give back to the world but did not have the financial means to create a foundation. But this did not prevent him from helping so many people. He personally funded many young Sri Lankan’s to get a better in the west. He helped many new immigrants start anew by financing their businesses.

He helped so many people and was never ever recognized for his work. He did it selflessly. Sadly, he passed away in 1992.

Malini Saba

Malini Saba created the foundation in her father’s honor. Endowed with funds from her business successes, she focuses on three areas; health, education and human rights. Malini is a philanthropist and business woman who hopes that her work through the foundation will reach a billion people through partners and direct investments. A daughter of an immigrant and self-made business woman, she believes everyone can make something of themselves if they have sheer will and never give up on their dream.

Our ultimate goal is to give access to the underserved.

Our mission—unchanged since 2002—is to promote the well-being of and children throughout the world.

Today, we pursue this mission through 3 areas: Healthcare, Education and Organizations.

In order to achieve these goals, we work at the intersection of four focus areas—advance , re-value ecosystems, secure livelihoods, and transform and communities—to address the root causes of these emerging challenges.

Together with partners, Saba Family Foundations strive to catalyze and scale, create unlikely partnerships that span sectors, and take risks others cannot.

  1. advancing  care that allows access for those who don’t have it
  2. building resilience by education reform & building  for the young
  3. help those who don’t have a voice under the human rights around the globe
